  • Thermostat: test for proper operation, calibrate, and level
  • Air Filter: clean existing (as needed)
  • Bearing: inspect for wear and lubricate
  • Coil: inspect indoor coil if accessible
  • Confirm proper return air and size
  • Condenser Coil: visual inspection
  • Refrigerant: monitor operating pressures
  • Safety Devices: inspect for proper operation
  • Electrical Disconnect Box: inspect for proper rating and safe installation
  • Electrical Wiring: inspect and tighten connections
  • Contactors: Test/inspect for burned, pitted contacts
  • Electrical: inspect for exposed wiring
  • Capacitors: inspect and test
  • Fan blade: visual inspection
  • Condenser Coil Cleaning: remove debris
  • Service valves: inspect for proper operation
  • Measure Supply/Return temperature differential
  • Ductwork: Inspect for energy loss
  • Compressor: monitor, measure amperage and volt draw and wiring connections
  • Check Unit for Time Delay Relay
  • Check Unit for Isolation Pads
  • Suction line: Inspect for proper fittings
  • Fittings: Inspect all for signs of oil and/or leakage
  • Check lines and fittings with Freon leak detector
  • Balance and re–torque blower wheel
  • Check Home for proper air flow
  • Test condensate drain line
  • Check evaporation for coil protection
  • Check and test high voltage fuses
  • Check and test low voltage fuses
  • Check for safety issues

It’s best to have this done before the hot season approaches. What an AC tune up essentially does is to make sure your AC unit running at full capacity, which in turn will put less stress the unit as a whole. As a result, less electricity will be used throughout the summer months while conserving energy and saving money during the process.
